ABOUT DORYN
Welcome to my site!
I'm an artist and designer based in the New York City area, currently pursuing my M.S. in Art Therapy at Syracuse University. I hold a degree in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Human Services and Sociology from Simmons University.
For a decade, I successfully operated a fine jewelry brand called Doryn Wallach Jewelry. During this time, I had the privilege of receiving recognition from prestigious publications like Harper's Bazaar, Women's Wear Daily, and Vanity Fair. Additionally, I was honored to be the recipient of the 2019 Design Excellence Award in Fine Jewelry from the Accessories Council.
With a strong passion for women's mental health, I embarked on a journey that led me to create and host the podcast, "It's Not A Crisis." dedicated to addressing women's issues in early midlife. Through this platform, I had the privilege of connecting with hundreds of women and offering them support. It became clear to me that my true calling was to assist people in navigating life's challenges. As I reflected on my background in the arts and my commitment to mental health, I realized that my ultimate aspiration was to become an art therapist, specializing in mindfulness and promoting positivity.
I am a current volunteer Arts Ambassador at Arts Westchester, and have previously volunteered at The Motherhood Center of New York, Look Good, Feel Better, Jewish Guild for The Blind and Planned Parenthood.
I’m also a proud member of the International Association for Premenstrual Disorders, Postpartum Support International, and an associate member of the American Art Therapy Association, The International Expressive Arts Therapy Association and The North American Menopause Society
